TALLOW, NO DEMAND.
(Beceived 29th May, 11.10 a.m.) ' LONDON, 28th May. : Tallow sales: 1697 casks were offered and 88 were sold. Fine mutton declined Is to Is 6d; other sorts 2s to 3s. Quotations*;. Mutton, fine, 36s 3d; mutton, medium, 31s; beef, 375; beef, medium, 30s 6d. The Bank of New Zealand Produce Department has received the following advice from its London office, under date 28th May:—"Tallow.—There is practically no demand. Nominal quotations: Good, mutton, 34s 6d to 35s per cwt; beef, 33s to 33s 6d; mixed, 32s 6d to 33s 6d; gut, 26s .to 29b." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., London, 28th May, advise: "Tallow: We quote present C.I.F. and E. values for the following descriptions of tallow: Fine mutton, 31s per cwt, down Is; good [beef, 345, down Is; mixed, 31s 9d,.. unichanged. Market dull, no buyerß."-
