Tho "Daily Mirror" Btates that a bitter municipal controversy was ended by tho payment of £35 to Lady Oxford, who opened the Jubilee Exhibition of' British Art at Bradford on Ist April, after which 55,000 persons ■visited it.

A director declared that the attendances were largely clue to v Lady Oxford.

The controversy began when Lady Oxford presented an account 'for 30 guineas and expenses, and continued for some time.

She made insistent inquiries, but nothing was paid.
