CHARITY SATURDAY GAMES

The Wellington Rugby Union's Management Committee met last evening, Mr. J. Prendeville. presiding. The following transfers were approved: G. T. Welply from Oriental to Marist; R. Warren from Poneke to Wellington; J. i Dalley from Poneke to Miramar; J. Smith from Wellington to Miramar'; E. Dalton from Upper Hutt to Hutt; W. Johnston from Oriental to Berhampore, subject to him not having played this year; A. G. Cook from Athletic to Miramar; N. W Simpson from Petone to Miramar; E. G English from Poueke to Athletic; K. j Mack from Poneke to" Athletic;' T.. J.! Davenport from Poneke to Institute; E.j A. Peterson from Petone to Taita. j Letters were received from the Sclwyn j and Onslow Clubs with regard to the eighth grade fixture: Sehvyn v. Onslow, on 17th May, which the coaches of the two teams agreed should not be played owimj to the weather and the state of the ground. It was decided to allow the match to be played Inter in the season if it has, any bearing on the grade championship. I The Institute Club was given permission- to enter a team in the eighth grade competition for the second round. In view of the difficulty experienced in keeping spectators from encroaching on the-field of play during the progress of j matches on the Polo No. 1 Ground, it wan decided to ask the City Council to provide a rope or wire barrier, and also ! to ask whether it would be possible toj have old lines, on the ground blotted out. . The Moera Club was given permission ' to send a junior team to Palmerston North to take part in a seven-a-side tour-' nament on 3rd June. At the request of the Maciri Rugby Advisory Hoard, leave of absence was granted to R. l'elham aiid P. Parai, to enable them to take part in the Maori match for the Prince of Wales Cup, Taihauauru v.
