BUILDING IN HUTT COUNTY
Thirty-six division schemes were carefully examined by the Hiltt County Council during the past year and. approved, the largest schemes being in the I'aita, Epuni Hamlet, and Paraparaumu Beach districts. A large scheme has recently been submitted in connection with lands at Wainui-o-m'ata, including a .large tunnel for access, and this matter is now /under consideration. "The "number of building permits issued,was,273, .with a total value of £185,----401,-compared with the previous year, when 20.5 permits were issued with a value of £6-1.03], the' increase being accounted for to tliu extent-of-approximately ,695,000 by the erection' of St. "Patricks College, for which the council will not receive any rates. . ' •
