PAREMATA TRAFFIC BRIDGE

The matter of the proposed ParemataPlunmerton traffic bridge is one that must command the attention of this council,"' said Mr. D. E. Hoggard in his annual report as chairman of the Hutt County Council, -which met to-day. "A representative deputation was received by the Minister of Public Works (the-Hon. W A Kansom) at the ske of the proposed bridge, and Councillor B. L. Button and I took the opportunity of stressing the very urgent need of this work, which will be an important link in the ultimate new low level main road eliminating the Paekakariki Hill, and at the same time shorten the present route from Wellington to Plimmerton by nearly, eight miles. There is a keen general demand for this bridge, which will be an improvement of national importance as well as a great factor in the development of this very pop"ular portion of the county."
