GOVERNMENT'S RAILWAY POLICY ■

The future railway construction policy of the Government was amongst the subjects discussed at the caucus of the United Party last week.

Beplying in Nelson to criticism of the Government for "building a very costly railway in. the "Nelson-West Coast area, undeterred by tho recent earthquake upheaval or tho scant economic prospects offered,',' Mr. G. C. Black said that as member for Motueka he took the opportunity at last Wednesday's caucus of ascertaining the future railway construction policy of the Government. . ■
