SKIDDING MOTOR-CYCLE

Two young men received injuries requiring their removal to the Hospital when the motor-cycle they ivere on skidded on the Hutt road early last evening. .The rider of the cycle was George Saunders, aged 20, of 11, Laing's road, Lower Hutt, who suffered injuries to the head. Frank Boiler, aged 21, also of 11, Laing's road, Lower Hutt, who was bn the pillion, received face injuries, bruises, and suffered from shock. The accident occurred almost opposite the Gorge Service Station at Ngahauranga. It is thought that the motor-cycle left the bitumen and. skidded in the loose 'metal on the side of the road. Saunders wag thrown over the handle bars, and Boiler followed him. Both men were rendered unconscious, and after attention by the Free Ambulance were taken to the Hospital. . : When a motor-car driven by a woman got out of control at Upper Hutt yesterday afternoon, several'men working in a trench had a narrow escape from serious injury. The car was turning into Beth street, Trentham, when it got out of control and charged across a trench for water-mains in which the men were working. One. of the men, David Tidswell, was struck by the car on the arm and body, and had his shoulder injured and two ribs fractured. After treatment by a doctor he was taken to his home. Through colliding with a motor-car in the vicinity Of Dixon and Willis streets at 7.30 last evening, a motorcyclist, C. M. Moor?, received a lacerated wound over the left eye and suffered considerably from shock. Mooro, who ia a painter residing in Joll street, was attended to by Dr. Stecle before beijiig taken to the Hospital by the Free Ambulance. ■• Miss E. M'Kinnon, a waitress at the King's Private Hotel, was taken to the Hospital this morning suffering from a severe lacerated wound .to the loft hand. The mishap occurred through Miss M'Kinnon tripping over a carpet while she was carrying a trayful of crockery. She was attended to by the Free Ambulance.
