FIRES AT LOWER HUTT

The Lower Hutt Firo Brigade was called out twice this morning. > Tho first call was at 12.15 a.m. to a fire in the boiler room of the Hutt Meat Company, Main street... Very little damage was done.

The second call was at 3.55 a.m. to a five-roomed house in King's road, occupied by Mr. B. S. . Langridge and owned by Mr. J. O'Brien. Two of the rooms were completely gutted and the others, damaged by'fire and water. Mr. Langridge and his wife and children, just managed' to escape with very little clothing. . ■ The origin of neither fire is known and the insurances are not yet available. ,
