TEN PERSONS INJURED

Although there were no accidents attended by fatal results in Wellington over tho week-end, ten people wci.o injured. Of these, three were strue'K by motor vehicles, three men were injured oil the playing fields, and four persons received more or less minor in/juries.

Severe- injuries to his head 'were veeevod by. 11. Cliffe, a motor body builder, when he was knocked clown by a motor-car on tho Main roat^ at Lower ITutt last evening. The injured man, who -lives at 95, Victoria street, also suffered from shock, and be was taken to the Hospital by tho City Ambulance.

Tho two footballers injured were C. Hoyte, who lives in Nowtowu, and B. Abbott, of 15, High street, Petono. Abbott received an injury to his left leg and Hoyte suffered, internal injuries. Both were taken to tho Hospital by the- ambulance. B. E,oulston, of Hataitai, was also hurt while playing on the polo grounds at Mirauiar.

Through falling off his motor-cycle on the. .Esplanade, Island Bay, D. Prater, who lives at 213, Thorndon quay,, received injuries to his head, chin, and right knee, and also suffered concussion. He was taken to the Hospital by the,Fx«e Ambulance.

Admitted to/the Hospital late on Saturday afternoon, G. Simpson, a plumber, of 127, Marine parade, Soatoun, who was knocked down by a motor-car at the corner of. Willis street and Ghuznee street, was i'ound to bo suffering from head injuries and slight concussion. W. H. Sebley, 15, Bay street, Petone, was knocked down by a motor-lorry in Lambton quay at about 11 a.m. on Saturday. He was cut about the arm and suffered slightly from shock. Ho was admitted to the Hospital.

Arthur Yarrall, a labourer, of 70, Taranalri street, was taken to tho Hospital on Saturday afternoon suffering from injuries to his left foot. The accident ivas caused through yarrall catching his foot in the footplate of an engine at Thorndon yards. Through being struck by a sling in a shed on the Ferry Wharf on Saturday, E;' Coulby, a wharf labourer, of 18, May street, was cut about the arms and chin. After attention by Dr. 11. C Faulkes, ho was transferred to his home.

A cut over the right eye and slight concussion was suffered by G. Sadd, a labourer, of 188, Vivian street, through slipping and falling heavily to tho ground at the corner of Vivian street and Willis street on Saturday. He was taken to the Hospital,

While F. Meyrick, of Main street, Lower Hutt, was riding his bicycle along Woburn road at 7.30 p.m. on Friday he was knocked down by an overtaking car driven by J. C. Kiernan. Meyrick and his bicycle were dragged 57 feet before, the car stopped, and he was found caught between the differential housing and the road. The bicycle was beneath the engine of the car. Except for bruises and cuts, Meyrick was uninjured, and after receiving attention from Dr. Barrou he was able to leturn. to his home. •
