SENTENCED FOR THEFT

PALMERSTON N., This Day. "According to your past history and the systematic nature of the thefts, one would not give credence to your excuse," said Mr. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day, .when sentencing Frank Edward Yates, aged 31, of Wanganui, on four charge of theft. The accused had pleaded guilty to the theft of a suitcase at Wanganui and other articles at Palmerston >Jorth, and said he must have been1 intoxicated. The accused was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment.
