CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
HUTT VALLEY GUN CLUB.
■' On Saturday afternoon, on the club's grounds at Taita, the members of the Hutt Valley Gun Club fired a 15-bird match for a trophy presented by Mri Jameson. The wintry conditions made shooting rathei1 difficult, and as the. birds Went out into tho southerly there was a tendency for tliem to rise quickly. The winner of the trophy, Dr. G. F. V. Anson, shot 33 birds; and My. S. Scott, the veteran shot, was second with 12 birds.
Tho Jameson trophy results are as follow:—Dr. G. F. V. Anson (9yds>, 13 birds; S. Scott (oyds), 12 birds; Mrs. Anson (lly'ds), 11 birds; W. J. H. Haase (15yds), 10 birds;; C. G. Pearso (19yds), !) birds; A. Scott (15yds), 0 birds; Dr. L. D. Cohen (11yds). 8 birds; G. Harcourt (12yds), 0 birds; R. M'Mullan (11yds), 5 birds.
The second shoot' of the afternoon was a 15-bivd. sweepstakes competition. _ The eiiib captain, Mr. W. Donovau, was present at this sliootj and it- was suitablo to the eccasion that on the eve of his departure for Christchurch he should be the winner of. this match, shooting 13 birds. For second place Dr.; G. V. V. .Anson.and G. Harcourt tied with 10 birds apiece.
