BROOKLYN CLUB.

The Brooklyn Harriers were the guests of the club captain (Mr. B. Bibby), and held their run from the Eastbourne Hotel. Excluding guests, some forty members sat down to afternoon tea after the run. Thirty-two men took part in the run, and were divided into two packs, N. 11. Smellie taking the whistle for the slow pack of twenty-one men, while B. Bibby controlled the fast men, who followed about ten minutes later. The trail led along tlie Muritni road for half a mile, turned to the left, and ascended the hill via the Butterfly Creek track. J. B. Jenkins and C. H. join'dain, in laying the trail, gave the men some genuine cross-country work—creeks, swamps, scrub, bush, logs, along beaten tracks, and out into broken open country, over fences, and up the Gollan's Valley road, and home via the Muritai Beach road. D. Sinclair's performance proved him well worthy of his ; ;\.out time record for crossing the'Tararttr.sl. With the exception of two or three men, all the runners took part in a quarter-mile run-in, for which first honours again fell to J. M. Josephs. L. C. Todd filled second place. G. C. Prosser demonstrated his recovery of form in being the third man home. Mr. N. Smellie' (deputy-captain) expressed appreciation on behalf of the runners for Mr. Bibby's generosity, and the afternoon's sport terminated with the singing of 'Tor He's a Jolly Good Fellow."
