Armistice Day was observed, at the instance ol the Society of Friends, by a special meeting hold in the Town Hall", at which ah the organisations of the city united in a peace demonstration. The report refers with gratification to the fact that New Zealand, in its relation to the 'wider matters ot world peace and tlie League ot Nations, has signed the Optional Clause of the j World Court, and has this year, for the first time, sent delegates to the International Labour Conference at Geneva.
