WELLINGTON WINS AGAIN.

Wellington continued on their winning way in the senior B grade on Saturday, when they defeated Melrose by 14 to 0. Although Wellington early showed that they were a superior team, the Melrose defence was very solid, for if it had not been, the score would have been much larger. Wellington's tactics were to feed the backs all the time, but their efforts were partially frustrated by the fast breaking-up -and bustling of the Melrose forwards. In the second spell the Yellow backs were particularly prominent, and with the forwards combining in many passing rushes, the team gave a spectacular display. Page, . given every opportunity by Johnston, played a splendid game, and ho was instrumental in paving the way for the.first try, Oliver.going over in the corner. The Yellow backs were ngain quickly in action at the beginning of the second spell," <ilid after a series of bright movements Pryde scored. The, Melrose forwards now-took a handa^d made things

interesting, but the Yellow combination was too good, and Pago brilliantly gold the dummy and side-stepped his, way through. Johnston converted a splendid try. Just before the conclusion Page again wen/; right through the opposition. It was great work. The try was not converted, and the game ended, Wellington 14, Molrose 0. Wellington's line has still to be crossed.
