INTEREST IN JAVA

(Received 21st May, 11 a.m.)

WELTEVREDEN, 20th May.1 Great interest was shown in Miss Johnson's arrival at Surabaya. Many ladies were present. She had an uneventful flight from Samarang. The engine functioned irregularly, which she ascribed to leakage in the petrol pipe. After a few hours' rest at the hotel she returned to the flying camp for the purpose of fully preparing the machine for a continuation of the flight on Wednesday morning, when she probably flies to Atamboea, although possibly only to Bima. ;
