DUNEDIN'S TKOUBLE LIFTING

(By Telegn.ph.—Press Association.)- ---• DUNEDIN, 19th May. There are signs of-the breaking of the drought in Dunedin.

After another day of brililant sunshine there was a welcome change in the conditions to-night, and steady rain set in at about 10.30 p.m. A telephone message indicated that it was also raining heavily at Waipori, and as there has been a sudden sharp drop, in the barometer the indications are that the rain may continue long enough to enable the removal of the present restrictions upon users of power.

DUNEDIN, This Day. Over a quarter of an inch of rain fel^ at Waipori dam last night There was also a heavy snowfall on tho Lammcrlaw Range, and as the weather is mild this should augment the supply. In'the meantime, Dunedin is stil without trams except at :rush hours.
