BOXING PUBLIC'S TRIBUTE
A strilung tribute to two deceased sportsmen was paid by the big crowd that. attended the boxing contest at the OWii Hall last night. Prior to the main event, -'• Mr. A. Curtayne, the chairman of the'"' Management Committee of the Wellington'" Boxing Association, addressiug the crpwd from the ring, referred to the loss suffered-: by sport in general and boxing in parti-' cular, through the deaths of Messrs. 'Frank 1 * M'Parland and James L.r Day, two vice-.': presidents of the association. He said .that their many fine qualities were knowri'.'* to all, and the Management Committee" had thought that the boxing public should be given an opportunity to express theit"1?' tribute to ( the memory o£ the two men, and sympathy with their families.
