LODGE MEETINGS

The fortnightly meeting of Coronation Lodge-No. 26, U.A.0.D., was presided over by Brother A. E. Smith, A.D. After routine business bad-been transacted the lodge adjourned to allow of a "mock court being held. Every Druids Lodge in Wellington was represented. Brother J. H. Laughtbn (Grand Secretary) acted as judge, Brother W. Maclauglilan was Crown prosecutor, Brother N. A. Ingram was counsel for the defence, Brother Robinson was chosen as foreman of the jury, and Brother V. Rowlands was Sergeant Bung. Brothers F. Kuch and S. Hall made satisfactory witnesses, and Brothers C. G. Hill, T. A. Mollison,'-C. Bott, and J. Phillips appeared on various charges. The fortnightly meeting of Pacific Lodge, No. 8, U.A.0.D., was held recently, A.D. Bro. G. Blackwell presiding. The bards reported on sick brethren, and sick pay amounting to £31! 2s 8d was passed for payment. Reports were received on the activities of the Friendly Societies'^ Dispensary and Druids Hospital Association respectively. A vote of thanks was accorded visitors, Bro. C. H. Crawford, Mackay Lodge, and Bro. H. L., Hawken, Whangarei, responding. Two candidates were proposed for, membership.. Recently about 200 Druids and friends were present at the annual social o£ the Pacific. Lodge at the Trades Hall, Vivian street. Musical and elocutionary items were contributed by Miss Myrtle Hall, Mrs. Cowie, and Messrs.' Ross-Williams, G. Hearn, P. Ketko, and S. Pomroy. Bros. F. Kuch and B. Bray were M.C's. Prizes were given for novelty dances. Before the supper adjournment opportunity was taken of making a presentation of a P.D.P. collar and framed diploma to Bro. F. Barley, ah old member of the Order, who joined the lodge in 1895, passing through the chairs on two occasions. D.P. Bro. O. Bengc made the presentation.
