KOERBIN CASE
WIPE'S MAINTENANCE CLAIM
"Whatever this wpmap has done to her husband, of course he is bound to maintain her," said Mr. W. H. Woodward, S,M,, in. the Magistrate's Court yesterday, when giving his decision in the case in which Mrs. Marion Koerbjn asjted for separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders against her husband, 'Herbert Koerbin. "I think under all the circumstances, however, 1 could not force him to pay more than he is already doing, £1 10s a week. I am satisfied that his means are not what his wife represents, nor were they ever that. In fact, 1 think at this tjme he is in somewhat straitened circumstances." Dealing with the question of the custody of a boy aged fifteen, the Magistrate said that tha law gave the father guardianship of the child, and he did not think that he should take it away from him, particularly in view of the wife's behaviour. Nor could he make an order that the wife should have access to the child, as he did not think ho had this power. However, ho was certainly of the opinion that aha should have a reasonable opportunity of seeing the child. Mr. A. B. Sievwright appeared for the complainant, and Mr. A, 0. Wiren for the defendant.
