BRITISH TEAM'S OPPONENTS

THE WANGANUI SIDE

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

WANGANUI, 19th May.

The Wanganui team to take- the field against the British team to-mor-row is:—Full-back, Thompson; threequarters, Tilley, Ambrose,- and Prince; five-eighths, M'Lennan and Gibbons; half, Duncan; wing-forward, Walden; forwards: back row, Leahy, Lockett; lock, Oxley; sides, Stewart, F. Heise; hookers, Lumsden and Lowry.

Gibbons wiU lead the home side. Gibbons is a product of the New Plymouth Boys' High School, and is only 10 years of age. He captained the school team last year, after gaining his cap three seasons before. His first appearance for Wanganui was last year, when still at school. He played against a strong Wairarapa team during the school vacation opposite Cooke, who had great praise to offer regarding his ability.

The British team is a strong one, despite the fact that Spong and Bassett are missing. The team indulged in stern practice to-day behind locked gates. The Wanganui side were similarly engaged on another ground. The rivalry is very keen.
