DEPRESSION AND TAXIS.
Dull trade and less to spend in pleasure explain the loss of over £SGOO on the year's business of Checker. Cabs, Ltd., Sydney. The year ended 28th February, and the net loss was £8642, increasing the debit balance in profit and loss account to £29,598. Accounts were delayed, because a committee representing a majority of shareholders were negotiating with the board -to extinguish preference capital by nay of repayment at under par. The company is following the policy of selling its cabs when satisfactory sales -can be effected. Total external liabilities are £14,350. Freehold valued at £74,099 is the principal asset.
