MIRAMAR BEAT PORIRUA
In the game between Porirua and Miramar at Porirua the town team encountered strong opposition, and fairly early in the game a good forward rush ended in Jones scoring in an easy position. Coleman missed with the kick. Porirua 3, Miramar 0. After further pressure by the Porirua forwards, Coleman went over near the corner, A. Whitehouse tailing with a difficult kick. 0-0. Up to this stage Porirjia were playing a fine game and thenforwards were superior to Miramar. A little later, however, Macaulay served, Haley, who, after a good run, scored in the corner. Pinkerton just missed with a difficult kick. Porirua 6, Miramar 3. A subsequent rush by the Miramar forwards paved the way -for another try. Jm>m a scrum near the line Macaulay sent bkyjellerup over in the corner, the try being unconverted. .0-6. In the second spell the play was faivly open, the Porirua forwards more than holding their own in the loose.
