COST OF LIVING FALLING

At the Ist May the average level of retail prices of commodities^, was approximately 55 per cent, above that of July, 1914, as compared with 57 per cent, one month ago, and 61 .per cent., one year ago.. , The fall in general percentage increase since Ist April was 'largely due to reductions in the prices of butter, milk, and coal. ."The cost of living in the United Kingdom.. is shown by this figure to be lower now than at any time since October, 1016.
