(Received 17th May, 2.45 p.m.)" London; i6th May, ; The Postmaster-General's Department, in an official statement dealing with the cricketers' failure to communicate with Australia by telephone, says: "The calls' were cancelled at 4.30 yesterday . afternoon, the. * cancellation instructions coming from Australia. If the- Australians tried to get through this morning they must have acted in ignorance of th« fact that the calls' had been cancelled." Apparently the cricketers were not advised thereof, for they aTe convinced that atmospherics were responsible for their lack of succeie. .'.--:
