• LONDON, 16th May. The special correspondent of th» "Daily Express" at Eangoou states that when Miss Amy Johnson started she was in-better spirits, but still chagrined at the loss of time. She has not got over the girlish impulse of blaming her directions and maps for her landing at Insein, repeating over and over again: "Everybody here has done everything and I'm. ungrateful. I've only myself to blame for the lops of time. How on earth I mistook Insein for Rangoon I do not know." Though she mistook the place and damaged her machine, she landed in the best place, as it adjoins the engineering workshops of the Government Technical Institute. Miss Johnson is still amused at the dexterity with which she alighted, between ,'the goal posts on the football ground. Sho is fully alive to the-perils of the monsoon, and-realises that she was lucky to get through the opening storms. She declares that she is disinclined to return by the same route until after the • monsoon. She appeared to be absolutely unconcerned at the prospect of the perils that may await her between hero and Australia, and laughingly remarked: "I must get within reach of'that purse the Australians aro so wonderfully collecting for me, anyhow." On. the subject of-the finance of her .flight she is somewhat embittered. "The story that my father is rich is quite wrong," she said. "We are only comfortably off, and I had the greatest difficulty in getting the small sum seeded to start my flight. Now dozens of people are telegraphing nic offers of much larger sums' for .books, .lectures, and all sorts of things. England only; wants to support ready-made 'success."
