It cleared somewhat latetj in the day, but rain was falling again; - there this Wellington, expert enced dull yesterday,, heavy;, rain falling between 3 p.m. and ; 6.45J p.m. Further rain fell during thai night, the heaviest falls occurringaboni; 2.30 a,m. and 5.10 a.m. There was ; littl«i wind, and temperatures remained mild* Christchurch had a rainy day yesterday^. followed by a cold night.
