SYDNEY PASSENGERS
MAKURA DUE MONDAY
Owing to the fact that the Marama is waiting at Wellington until Friday, when she will resume her interrupted running in the intercolonial service, the only Sydney steamer arriving at Wellington next week will be the Makura, in the' San Francisco Royal Mail service. The Makura left Sydney on Thursday afternoon, and has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive in the stream at 7 o'clock on Monday morning! She will berth between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the No. 3, Taranaki Street Wharf to discharge the Wellington portion of her passengers, mails, and cargo. She has on board 275 passengers, including 210 for' Wellington. She carries 332 bags of Australian mail and 148 parcel receptacles, including 09 from^ other places. The Makura fs to sail at 3 o'clock on Tuesday aftornoon for San Francisco, via Barotonga and Papeete. The Melbourne steamer Maheno is not making tho full trip on this occasion. Sho is due at Bluff at 6.30 on Monday morning, and will proceed later in tho day for Dunedin. She is due there on Tuesday, and after completing discharge will withdraw for her annual overhaul and survey.
