NEW ZEALAND'S ATTRACTIONS

(To the Editor.) Sir,—As n "Southerner" I thoroughly; agree with the remarks of your correspondent ivritint? under the norn de plume "The Beautiful South" in Monday's issue of the '"Evening Post." Each Island of New Zealand has lM own scenic charms, but alas, many of those in the South, Island are not known of or heard about because visitors to New Zealand are discouraged from going there. Some Australian friends of. mine wh» had seen the North Island scenic attractions wished to go down South, but were told "no use going to that cold hole; there is nothing to see there." However, J persuaded them to go and see the Lakes, 'Mount Cook, and the Franz Joseph Glacier, and it would do "Northerners and Government Tourist officials here good to hear the praise bestowed by my friends upon these southern scenic "gems, and, also in regard .to the courtesy and hospitality extended to them during their stay in,the South Island. . , . I consider the whole' of the scenic resorts of the Dopiinion should receive tba utmost publicity, not one portion thereof. -I am, etc., oniTrmfßUllß" •
