The last British team to come to New Zealand,, that is, team from the.Homeland representing England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, was "not in 1908 is generally ( supposed. That was an Anglo-Welsh combination. It was in 1904 that the last British team, led by Bedell Sivwright, visited the Dominion, and curiously enough there was only one Scottish representative as there is on this occasion. The team comprised twenty-four players, the representation being as follows: —England 13, Wales 8, Ireland 2, and Scotland's sole representative was Bedell Sivwright. Only five 'matches were played, but there was also an informal game with the Maoris. The 1908 Anglo-Welsh team played 17 matches. ' . -..."■■
