The Minister of Trade and Customs, Mr. Fcnton, of Australia, was here to interview .the Canadian. ..Government with a-view to laying the foundations of a trade agreement, he said,;"which would prove acceptable arid beneficial to all concerned." He was. the guest at a luncheon on Tuesday of the GovernorGeneral and Viscountess Willingdon at Rideau Hall, wlrere he met the Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mr. Malcolm. "We met "he said, "had a chat,,and ' are to .meet again. I told Mr. Malcolm that we Australians did not consider that Canada purchased a sufficiently large part of her imports from us. lam very hopeful that the Imperial and Economic Conferences in London will settlej a lot of things.
