Insein, nine miles from Rangoon, at 5.30 p.m. Interviewed, she said that leaving Calcutta in fogfy weather in.the morning she found the journey to Akyab pleasant, but later she ran into terrible weather, with heavy rains and; strong head winds. She crossed the Yomas Range at about il2,oooft altitude, but owing to bad visibility she gradually came' down to about 200 ft. She then followed the coast line and also the railway line till she reached Insein, where she mistook a playing field for the Rangoon racecourse, but finding it too small she continued her flight. However, losing sight of Rangoon and finding no other place she returned to Insein. and landed there perfectly. While taxi-ing the' 'plane fell into a ditch, which she had not noticed. Thus, she damaged slightly the wings, , wheels, and propeller. She herself was uninjured. The engine, is all right, and if repairs can be finished;- Miss Johnson intends to take off to-morrow.
