PROTECTION OF ANIMALS
The fortnightly meeting of the fe.P.C.A. Committee was held on Wednesday last, the president, Mr. G. Mitchell, presiding. It was reported that 'arrangements were being made for the conference representative of all societies for the prevention of cruelty •■.-'to' animals throughout New Zealand and. remits had been received from practically every society.
The inspector reported that since the previous meeting he had investigated a ■number of cases of alleged cruelty to animals, and that the majority of the eases had been of a minor nature. In one instance which had been too serious to be dealt with by a caution, proceedings had been taken. The inspector had also visited the Levin, Paraparaumu, and Foxton districts.
