MR. A. MARSHALL
The appointment is announced of Mr. Arthur Marshall to the position of Controller of Savings Banks and Accounts, Post and Telegraph Department, rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr. H. D. 'Edwards. ' <
Mr. Marshall has been in tho service since 1897, and, with tho exception of a period of about two years, has been employed in- the accountant's branch. He is a qualified,accountant by examination, and has taken a very active part in placing the Department's accounting work on a commercial basis. For*several years past he has also been associated with, tho higher financial activities of tho Department. ' . Mr. Marshall has taken a prominent part in the social welfare of the staff, and is well known in bowling circles.
