Ideal conditions for trapshooting favoured the members of the Hutt Valley • Gun "'Club on Saturday afternoon, when on the club ground at Taita, the first •' stage of a 21-bird leg-in shoot for Mr.'S. Scott's trophy was fired. Shooting with great judgment and precision, the club's, president, Dr. Anson, accounted for 19 of his birds, and was an easy winner, second place being filled by-Mrs. Answn. and W. Donovan, who tied with 16 birds apiece. After afternoon tea the members took part in a sweepstake match of 15 birds. The competition for first place was very keen. J. Scholes broke his first U birds neatly with his first barrell each ahot, but just missed the possible by. failing with his last shot. Mrs. Ansou, who lied with Scholes for first place, missed with her third shot, but made no mistakes with her last 12 birds. The following are the results:— 3lr. S.
