LONDON PERSONALS
(From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, 4th April. Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Middleton, and their daughter, Miss Grace Middleton, aro on a pleasure trip. They arrived by the Maloja, and, after a brief stay in London, they will leave for France preparatory' to: taking a round trip by motor-ear of Western Europe. The Misses C. and.M. Holmes (Wellington) arrived by the Maloja on' a pleasure trip. They bought a motorcar soon after reaching. London, and they are now touring in. the South of England. They will work their way through to Scotland, and hopo to bo in London by tho beginning of June for the season. In due course tho Continent will be visited. The Misses Holmes expect to bo abroad for about a year. Miss Winifred S. Dudley (Wellington) has been spending some time in South Africa. In Cape Town she stayed for several months with Mrs. Bowen (a sister of Dr. Gillies) whose husband is now a member of Parliament for the South African Party< Miss Dudley also stayed.with Mrs. C. N. Elmslie, whose husband, was formerly Trade Commissioner in New Zealand and who is now Trade. Commissioner for South Africa. Miss Dudley thoroughly enjoyed •• the scenery of the Cape and has a desire to go on a sketching tour in September when the wild flowers will provide a marvellous show of colour. A trip to North Wales is now in contemplation, and in May she will join Mrs. J. Tripe in France. Another, New Zealander who is studying painting on the Continent is Miss Flora 'Scales, and Miss Dudley hopes to be with her also later on.
Miss Margaret K. Simpson and her brother, Mr. G. A. Simpson' (Marton) have been travelling sincer leaving New Zealand last. August, and they have had a most interesting tour, coining by way of Australia' to South Africa, \ and thence via Egypt, Geuoa, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and the Bivicra to London, which was reached last week. They saw a great deal of South Africa, including in their tour the wonderfully beautiful Victoria Falls, and visiting aho the Matoppas. From Beira they tra oiled via the East Coast of Africa. A short time was spent in Egypt before the journey was continued to Europe. Mr. and Miss" Simpson expect to spend several months in the Mother Country.
