ADMIRAL GARDEN
LONDON, Sth May. The death is annouueed of Admiral Sir Sackville'Garden.-
Admiral Sir Saekville Hamilton Carden, K.C.M.G., was born in 1857, and: entered the : Navy in 1870. He rose, in: the service until in 1914 ho was appointed Vice-Admiral, being placed in command of the Eastern Mediterranean Allied. Squadrons shortly after the outbreak of war. He was in charge of the naval operations at the Dardanelles, including the bombardment of all forts at the entrance of the Dardanelles until incapacitated by illness in March, 1915. He served in the Egyptian. War of 1882 also. He received his knighthood in 1916. Admiral Garden married twice.
