FOURSOMES SEMI-FINALS

PALMEESTON N« This-Day.
The ladies''handicap foursomes competition was continued this morning. The semi-finals resulted: —
. Mrs. G. Williams and Miss B. Williams (Masterton) ser, beat Misses S. Watson (Manawatu), and E. Bell- (Wellington), ser, 1 up at the nineteenth. - Misses B. Gaisf ord (Marton.) and M. Guy - (Manawatu), ser, beat Mrs.- MacRao (Masterton) and Miss Pharazyn (Napier), 4 up at the nineteenth; Both were.good matches, with the golf a little unsteady at times. In the first match the Masterton pair wero three down at the fourteenth, but played good golf to square the game at the'eighteenth and win the deciding hole. ' . ■ ■
.lii the other match. Mrs. MacKae and Miss Pharazyn. were 1 up at the; sixteenth. The seventeenth was halved, but the game: was squared at the eighteenth. ■ Misses Gaisf ord and Guy took ,the nineteenth hole, Miss Guy sinking a long putt.
