DEAR ONES, End o' liaster Vi reek. and you will all be thinking about school iicain , . . so ioon now. But what a lovely week we had—a - wfick'in holiday mood if ever there was one. All except one small day ... A letter came to me last Tuesday; a fat and contented letter, which said: "Just think, Fairiel —FIVE holidays this week!" And then it added very quickly: "0, no ... I forgot. Four h olidays and a Day of Remembrance/' And a little quietness seemed to follow the words. "In Flanders Fields ih e poppies blow Between ihe crosses, row on row . , ." On a f day set apart from the year's store, we dip our flags to those men in Flanders Fields and in the North Sea, and on the little peninsula of Gallipoii. The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps . . . Anzac Day is our own day for the honouring of our own men . . . Sii'ns of autumn everywhere now, elves o' mine. Berries in the fields, scarlet of leaves on the blackberry plants, gold of ehrysanihcmujn heads in'the gardens ..." J think we must have autum n in the fling very soon now. Don't you? ■ . . ' Days of happiness to you. dear ones.
