RUNHOLDER'S ESTATE
.MIvMBKR OF OLD FAMILY (By Telearaph.) (SpMlal to "The Evening Post.'1) ,' ' AUCKLAND, 17th April. The estate of AValtcr Clapham Mountain, a runholder at Pnrerua, Bay of Islands, who died on 20th. March, is valued for probate at £67,320. The bequests are all private. Mr. Mountain belonged to one of the first families to take up la_nd in the north, and was a." grandson of Mrs. I Lotherbridge, the first white woman born in New Zealand. In his younger days lie was a boxer and athleto of note in Australia. 'Later he returned to Pnrerua, and helped his father in fish and meat-canning works there. He farmed eight or nine thousand acres with considerable success, and was engaged in cattle dealing all over tho Auckland Province. He was a former member of the .Bay of Islands, County Council and a Masoii of long standing.
