CAK GOES OVER BANK (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. Four members of a family who were in a five-seater touring motor-ear, which rolled eighty feet down a bank on the Waitotara Hill road had a narrow escape from death yesterday. The car was driven by Mr. W. H. Cannon, of the Native Land office, Wanganui, and the other occupants were Ms wife and two daughters. It landed in a swamp a complete wreck, aud a quantity of camping gear tied to the vehicle was ruined. Tho four were thrown out as the car rolled down the bank,-and they all escaped with cuts and bruises. Mr. Gannon's car was one of three being driven to New Plymouth for a camping holiday over Easter. The other drivers were Messrs. Wilson and Elliott, .of Wanganui. In travelling over a steep part of the Waitotara Hill, about fourteen miles from Wanganui, Mr. Cannon's car left the road and shot over the bank, which fell away on one side. It rolled over several times, and fortunately those in it were thrown clear. A ■ service car which passed on its way to Wanganui shortly after picked up the injured people and brought them back to Wanganui.
