EMPIRE SCULLING
It would be interesting to observe how the New Zealand double-sculling champions, Jackson and Traill, of • Wanganui Union, would compare with the Empire's, best. While the Australian Pearee would probably account for Jackson in a singles race, it is quite likely that Jackson and Traill would meet with success in the double. Of course the omnipresent difficulty of finance would have to be overcome, but a suggestion that, the citizens of Wanganui, whose commendable civic pride has frequently been in evidence, should endeavour to raise the money to send the scullers to tho games, might not be coldly received. An additional advantage of this course would bo that two more men would be on hand in the event of sickness or disablement of members of the ciglit-oarcd crew. I)-, will be remembered that Traill, in an emergency, rowed in . the Wanganui Union crew in the race for the Marlborougli Plate at the championship regatta in 1920.
