Tho total was carried to 160 to-day before the innings closed. Mackenzie, Robinson, andPaetz were ■the principal, contributors to. the score, and Matheson, Selmauerj and . Bannister were. the most successfui ■bowlers for tjlie visiting.side, Brew also taking a wicket. The Auckland bowlers were excellently supported by Browne be.hind the wickets, the 'keeper having a. hand in tho dismissal of five of the batsmen. When the luncheon adjournment was taken to-day, Auckland had made 100 runs for-.the loss of ..three wickets, Schnauer and Matheson being unbeaten with 41 and 21 respectively.
