MUSSOLINI STOPS PUMPING

ROME, 25th March. Signor Mussolini has ordered the cessation of the pumpiiig of Lake Nerai, where tho uncovered Caligula galley was found to bo built of wood'covered with lead plates, instead of the traditional gold. A second galley was similarly armoured.

A huge sum was spent by the Italian Government in draining Lake Nemi to expose the galleys or houseboats built by the Emperor Caligula. Tho results were most disappointing.
