SPANISH CRISIS

BARRERA AT BARCELONA

REFUSAL TO QUIT POST

TALK OF REBELLION

Dinted Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Eeeeived 27th March, 1 p.m.) LONDON, 26th March. The "Daily News" Madrid correspondent reports a new Spanish crisis arising from General Barrera's refusal to quit his post as Captain-General at Barcelona from which he was dismissed by the present Government for plotting with General Martinez Anido to establish a dictatorship. General Barrera is believed to have secured the support of the majority of Barcelona officers. The Government, without waiting for the King's signature, appointed Prince Carlos, of Bourbon, the King's brother-in-law, to succeed General Barrera. The Prince' went to Barcelona last night. There is talk of open rebellion over the Government's action.
