HAIRDRESSERS' WORK

At the annual meeting of the Wellington Hairdressers' Assistants' Union, held on Thursday, the following resolution was carried unanimously: "That this meeting of hairdressers assistants places on record that Mr. C. H. Chapman, M.P., acted by instruction of the union in the application to have Mr. L. Page included iv the list of parties to tho hairdressers' award. This was necessary to safeguard conditions of employment, which have taken many years to obtain; further, we thank our secretary for his valuable services in obtaining more regular employment at reasonable wages for our members. The statement that Mr. Chapman prevented the employment of a hairdresser's assistant is entirely unwarranted," .
