WORKERS DISAPPOINTED

LONDON, 7th March,
Two hundred thousand woollen operatives affected by Mr. MacMillan's find-, ings are bitterly disappointed. Mr. MaeMillan explains thai/ ho reached his decision with regret, but regards it as inevitable. The' financial position at the industry had become worse during the past five years. At the present it was most unsatisfactory, if not actually dangerous.
Mr. A. Shaw, the union secretary, explains that the recommendations mean, that male workers will suffer a weekly reduction of 5s Id to 49s 9d; females 3s to 29s 3d; piece workers 3s 8d to 38s. The union executives met and ad*. journed to 10th March.
