WEATHER CHANGING
BECOMES LESS SETTLED
I: The weather yosterday was controlled by a moderate anti-cyclone, which moved on to the Dominion, and which is now passing away eastward. With' the exception of a few light showers in the north of the Worth Island and around Capo Egniont, showers which were associated'with the south-easterly, wind, yesterday's weather was generally fair to fine. But barometric pressure has begun to fall again, and by this morning northerly winds were general, and in places were displaying a tendency to freshen.
Yesterday morning in Auckland was fair, -but the afternoon was dull, and light showers fell overnight. Wellington enjoyed a pleasant sunny day with, a light southerly, which has since given place to northerly winds. Yesterday morning it was cloudy ie Christehurch, but the sun shone in t*ie ' afternoon. The day started by being dull in Dunedin, but the skies cleaned later, and it has been bright ever since.
The forecast issued! at noon to-day suggests a temporary reversion to' rather less settled weather conditions. Moderate to strong northerly winds may bo expected with cloudy and unsettled weathor. Eain iv northern and western districts will gradually extend in the form of scattered showers to eastern parts. Temperatures will rise, especially in eastern provinces.
