CORONER'S REMARKS

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUECH, This Day. At an inquest into the death of Thomas Alexander Hardie, who was killed while riding a motor-cycle at Sockburn on 21st December, the Coroner, Mr. Mosley, S.M., again referred to the increasing number of fatal accidents on tho roads. Mr. Mosley said: "This man was only twenty-one years of age, and his death, is a loss to the country. This is one of a practicallycontinuous line of accidents of this nature. They are caused by carelessness on the part of ' one person or other. In this unfortunate case the accident was the result of the deceased 's own action. It was shown that Hardie had two companions ol his machine, and w-s doing thirty •£>• failes an hour when It ran in* < a car."
