CLIFTON TERRACE
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—rWould you allow me to call the attention to the dangerous state of Cliftou terrace ? A large part of the fence is broken away, exposing a dangerous fall of 20 feet on to the steps leading to Cliftou Station. There is only one footpath, and a large number of children pass to the school every day. For over a year the fence was rotten, but a small hedge of hawthorn, which has now beeu cut, down, made it not quite so dangerous. Several people go into the narrow roadway and risk the motor traffic rather than walk on the footpath. Who is to blame? And why are not steps taken to. give the longsuffering ratepayers safety as they walk along this much-used footpath? There ia not even a rail or a wire to afford protection from a fall. Perhaps those in authority will come and see for themselves the disgraceful state of things.—l am, etc., A MOTHER.
