HUGH WRIGHT CUP The annual competition for the Hugh Wright Cup, among the social clubs of the city took place on the Wellington Club green yesterday. The Working Men's Club and the ,Wellesley Club tied on games won,- but the' Working Men's Club had a win on points, 168 to 158. The results are as follows:— :■ ■■ SECTION A. :First -Round.—Munro (Civil Service) beat Lock (Working Men's), 12-8; M'Arthur ■■' (Central) ■ beat Salt (Commercial Travellers), 14-8; Fielding (Federal) beat Norwood (Wellesley), 15-14. Second Round.—M'Arthur beat Munro, 14-10;- Norwood beat • Lock, 17-9; Salt beat Fielding, 14-10. Third Round.—Fielding beat Munro, 13-12; Lock beat M'Arthur, 27-10; Salt beat Norwood, 16-11. Fourth Round.—Munro beat Salt, .18-9; Fielding beat Lock, 16-14; Norwood beati M'Arthur, 19-5. Fifth Round.—Norwood beat Munro, 19-3; Lock beat Salt, 24-9; Fielding beat M'Arthur, 19-11. SECTION B. First Round.—Wylie (Wellesley) beat Halliday (Civil Service), 20-3; Duff (Working Men's) beat Vosseler (Commercial Travellers), 17-14; Lulham (Federal) beat Johnson (Central), 9-1. i. Second Round.—Vosseler beat Halliday, 14-6; Duff beat Lulham, 23-7; Wylie beat Johnson, 21-15. Third Round.—Halliday beat Lulham, 25-4; Duff beat Johnson, 17-3; Wylie beat Vosseler, 17-7. Fourth Round.—Halliday beat Johnson, 13-12; Duff beat Wylie, 15-8; Vosseler beat Lulham, 10-9. Fifth Round.—Duff beat Halliday, 14-9; Vosseler beat Johnson, 21-9; Wylie beat Lulham, 12-10. ' At the conclusion of the day the cup was presented by Mr. Wright, who said that they, seemed to have had a pleasant day, and he was glad that it was now a one:day game,' which he thought was better than drawing out the competitors for two days. ' He thought the/cup promoted the proper1 spirit. \ Cheers were given for the donor, with musical honours. Mr...W. Perry, on behalf of the bowlers, thanked Mr. Wright for presenting the cup,! as it i gave them a fine holiday and provided them with a great day at bowls. He hoped that the spirit which animated the competition would long continue. So far the Working Men's Club, the Commercial Travellers' Club (twice), and the Federal Club have held the cup.
